In connection with the publication in The Lancet entitled ”Use of nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors and risk of myocardial infarction in HIV-infected patients enrolled in the D:A:D study: a multi-cohort collaboration” and the presentation at CROI 2008 of the poster “Recent Use of Abacavir and Didanosine, but not of Thymidine Analogues, Is Associated with Risk of Myocardial Infarction”(poster No. 957c) the D:A:D steering committee has released a position statement.
