New PERSIMUNE Publication
PERSIMUNE in publication in Nature genetics " Bayesian analysis of genetic association across
tree-structured routine healthcare data in the UK Biobank
." .
Professor Lars Fugger contributed to an analysis comparing classified phenotypes against findings from analysis
of host genomics and report an improvement of more than 20% increase in power to detect genetic effects over other approaches and identifies new associations between classical human leukocyte antigen (HLA) alleles and common immune-mediated diseases (IMDs). The study emphasises that a more careful system biological characterisation (in this instance host genome bioinformatics analysis) contributes to a better and biologically-determined classification of causes of disease.
