CASS
The Cooling And Surviving Septic Shock Study (CASS) was a randomized multicenter study that included patients with septic shock between 2011 and 2016. In the CASS study, patients were randomized to standard treatment or to standard treatment + MIH. To investigate coagulation, anticoagulation and fibrinolysis in real-time in patients with septic shock, a unique collaboration was initiated with the blood banks of the Capital Region of Denmark. This collaboration made it possible to perform TEG tests on all patients included in the CASS study throughout the Capital Region.
