Sample shipment
Stored samples of plasma and urine are required at Annual Study Visits. Instructions for obtaining, processing, and storing these specimens are available in the START laboratory manual.

The Copenhagen ICC in Copenhagen, Denmark, serve as the regional repository for specimens from countries in the Copenhagen Region. When you are ready to ship specimens, please contact the Copenhagen ICC. The ICC will arrange the shipment and the courier will bring the shipping materials as well as the dry ice.

The Saf-T-Pak 310 packaging system will be used for the stored samples. It consists of an outer cardboard box and an inner insulated container. Packages containing biological infectious substances must be packaged in accordance with Packing Instruction 602 or instruction 650 Biological Substance (Diagnostic Specimens) as found in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Manual.
